WORLD YOUTH ALLIANCE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA 

The World Youth Alliance Chamber Orchestra is an ensemble of young musicians (ages 10-17) from Manhattan's most prestigious music programs including The Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music.  The aim of the ensemble is to inspire international cooperation by reflecting the ideals of the World Youth Alliance.

The World Youth Alliance Chamber Orchestra has performed domestically at venues such as the United Nations and Fairfield University, and internationally at World Youth Day in Madrid, Spain during summer 2011.   

UPCOMING PERFORMANCES

On Friday, March 23rd, the ensemble will perform a concert in celebration of World Youth Alliance's 13th birthday.  To receive an email invitation to this event, email alexis@wya.net.  

RECENT PERFORMANCES

On Friday, January 13th, the ensemble performed prior to Mary Ann Glendon's keynote address at the New York Encounter.  

On Friday, January 27th, the ensemble performed at the Manhattan International Film Festival's opening event.  

On Tuesday, December 6th, the ensemble performed at the annual gala for Legatus

On Friday, September 30th, 130 attendees gathered for a performance of the ensemble at the American Bible Society. The event was a celebration of the orchestra's recent experience performing in Madrid for World Youth Day. To view the full performance recording, click here.

AUDITION FOR THE ORCHESTRA

Auditions for the orchestra are held annually during the months of May and June.  Applicants must be string players, ages 10-17, and prepare 2 contrasting selections from the standard repertoire.  To request an appointment, email alexis@wya.net.
