WYA Europe Second Annual Emerging Leaders Conference 2013

October 02, 2013 -- October 03, 2013

We would like to invite you to the 2nd WYA Europe Emerging Leaders Conference – ELC 2013. The conference is an annual event of World Youth Alliance Europe that brings together young people, members and youth leaders from across Europe to interact with leaders and policy makers on current global issues.

This year’s theme will focus on the Post-2015 Sustainable Development Agenda and the required person-centered approach. With the Millennium Goals expiring, the new agenda for development post- 2015 is now set to produce new development goals. Much of the focus of these goals will be on the issue of the environment and how the human person fit into it sustainably. There are important decisions to be made about the roles and responsibilities of people and communities, but it must go hand-in-hand with their rights as well. The difficult task ahead will be finding the balance between sustainability and development. We believe that a person-centred approach will be the place to start with to ensure efficient harmony between the two ideals.

The conference will be held at WYA Europe’s Offices in Brussels from Wednesday, 2nd October to Thursday 3rd October 2013, and will be an opportunity for young people from all over Europe to attend and interact with experts and policy makers.
