Asia Pacific

The Emerging Leaders Conference is an annual event of the World Youth Alliance Asia Pacific (WYAAP) for young individuals to learn about the salient issues of today and how they can apply their roles as leaders through a variety of talks, forums and interactive activities. Participants will have the opportunity to share their ideas and build networks with other youth leaders from the Asia Pacific region. It also serves as venue for young people to engage in cultural exchanges. This will strengthen a region-wide cooperation among Asia Pacific youth to implement projects among participating individuals and organizations as well as explore possibilities for project collaboration, laying the groundwork for long-term partnerships.

On its 2nd year, the WYAAP Emerging Leaders Conference will focus on the theme "The Development Paradigm: A World Beyond 2015". This conference aims to create a deeper understanding of development issues focusing on the Post-2015 Millennium Development Goals. Plenaries are set to discuss topics on Health, Education, Sustainable Societies and The Best Practices on Development. As the international community creates the post-2015 development agenda, WYAAP recognizes that to affect change the new development paradigm must respond through the authentic needs of the person through a person-centered approach to policies and programs.
