The International Summer Camp is truly an exciting and intellectually enriching experience. During this intensive two-week program hosted by the World Youth Alliance in New York City, young people from all over the world learn about the dignity of the human person, how this relates to true solidarity and authentic freedom, as well as the ways in which these ideas can inform our approach to contemporary issues facing the United Nations and beyond. In addition to seminars led by WYA staff and local experts, the International Summer Camp involves many outdoor and cultural activities that forge lasting relationships around a common belief in the dignity of the human person.
Seminar topics for 2012 include:
Is the human person a subject with dignity?
How is authentic freedom derived from our intellect and will?
How do we become champions for the defense of the human person?
What are the current threats against human dignity at the United Nations?
How does WYA bring the voice of young people to the international arena, such as the upcoming Rio Conference in Rio de Janeiro on sustainable development?
Why is the person at the center of authentic human development?
Outdoor and cultural activities include:
Kayaking on the Hudson River
Broadway at Bryant Park
