WYA Europe organizes successful Emerging Leaders Conference
The 6th Emerging Leaders Conference was held from the 26th to the 29th of November in Brussels. This high-level event in the European Parliament gathered more than 70 youth, experts and European policy makers under the theme “Migration and Development: Human Dignity in the Refugee Crisis.”
WYA Croatia organizes 5th WYA Week, celebrates 5 years of existence
WYA Croatia Chapter organized its 5th WYA Week in Zagreb, from 20th to 24th of November, under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Croatia. The title of this WYA Week was “We are staying in Croatia”. The Chapter celebrated its 5th birthday since the founding in 2012.
On Friday, October 27, WYA Europe hosted a cocktail party celebrating its 16th birthday. More than 100 former staff, interns, alumni, and friends of WYA gathered at the venue in Brussels to share old stories and to celebrate the new successes of WYA in Europe.
WYA Spain Organizes Congress on “The Challenges of the Family in the 21st Century”
On October 21st, the World Youth Alliance Spain Chapter organized a congress about “The Challenges of the Family in the 21st Century”. The objective of this congress was to promote awareness among young people of the difficulties that families are facing nowadays, and the possible solutions to them.
WYA Europe trains members, starts a Chapter in the University of Navarra
From September 18 to 23, World Youth Alliance Europe held an intensive training for the WYA members in the University of Navarra, Pamplona, Spain. The training was organized as a part of the partnership with the Arete Foundation, an organization working in close collaboration with the University.
WYA Poland Hosts Intro Session at University Ignatianum in Krakow
On Wednesday, October 17, 2017, WYA Poland visited University Ignatianum in Cracow as part of the Nationwide Career Week. Thanks to the invitation, WYA Poland was given the opportunity to meet with the students and present to them our organization.
Meet WYAE’s Incoming Staff: Elisabeth Gudenus (Director) and Anita Dekanic (Director of Operations)
World Youth Alliance Europe announces the selection of Elisabeth Gudenus as incoming Regional Director (RD) and Anita Dekanic as Regional Director of Operations (RDO). Elisabeth will start as RD in May 1, 2018 while Anita will begin her new role as RDO in February 1, 2018.
The plenary session of the European Parliament adopted the Annual report on Human Rights and Democracy in the World 2016, a very important document in the European Union, setting up standards and priorities on Human Rights issues. The report included amendments with controversial measures, such as the promotion of abortion through the inclusion of “sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR)” and calling for the EU to invest development funding in this area.
The World Youth Alliance Internship Program provides opportunities for young people who are inspired by the ideas and work of WYA to gain professional skills working on WYA’s projects and a substantive learning experience on WYA’s core ideas. Projects are designed to enhance each student’s specific academic background and interests. Interns receive mentorship and training from WYA staff members.
