It’s time to look beyond the frame, between the lines, and beneath surface meanings. Look out of the box!
LOOK OUT BOOTCAMP is designed to acquaint participants with relevant concepts of media literacy and equip them with tools of critical analysis and effective expression.
The Bootcamp is an intensive day-long media literacy training-workshop for college students organized by Out of the Box Media Literacy Initiative (OOTB) and UNESCO Jakarta. It will take place in UP College of Mass Communication on May 9, 2015, Saturday.
Aside from the main lectures and workshop sessions with an impressive roster of facilitators, part of the program is a fun Spoof Ads competition and also an afternoon acoustic concert. WYA Asia Pacific will also be present at the event to sign up new members and to give a short introduction about World Youth Alliance.
OOTB is an ambitious startup put up by enterprising youth literacy advocates. The event is also supported by Philippine Press Institute, Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility, World Youth Alliance Asia Pacific, and Union of Journalists of the Philippines – UP, and endorsed by the National Youth Commission and UP College of Mass Communication.
Fill out and submit the registration form: http://goo.gl/MyLU8Y on or before April 27, 2015. Chosen participants will receive confirmation e-mails on April 28.
