The World Youth Alliance (WYA) invites young directors internationally, to submit short films to the 2016 Manhattan International Film Festival (MIFF). Submissions will be reviewed by a distinguished jury panel, and 10-15 finalists will be invited to screen their film during the MIFF (November 2016).
At the festival, industry professionals will present lectures and each finalist will have a chance to screen their short film. Screenings will be attended by a NY general public audience, and all films will be critiqued by a master film director. At the conclusion of the festival, 3-5 finalists will be selected as winners, and their films will subsequently be screened at prominent events in Brussels, Belgium and Manila, Philippines.
MIFF is a cultural initiative of WYA seeking to recognize promising young directors committed to exploring the depth of the human condition. Previous films recognized by the festival have examined themes relating to family, community, suffering, empathy, and the pursuit of happiness, truth, and the transcendent.
