WYA Africa Youth Summit 2020
July 18 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The Youth Summit is an annual program activity that World Youth Alliance Africa hosts every year as a way of congregating young people who are committed to impacting society through creating person-centered initiatives. These initiatives are pivoted from the acknowledgment of the inalienability and inviolability of human dignity.
This year’s Youth Summit will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020, at 4:00 pm (Kenyan time GMT+3). The theme ”The role of youth in good governance” aims to discuss pertinent matters in governance that promotes human flourishing and the role of the youth in ensuring that they secure their place in the promotion of good governance.
WYA Africa shall bring on board expert speakers to discuss two main topics;
1.The role of the youth in Good Governance
2. Understanding International law – International treaties and their effect on Reproductive Health Policies in Africa
The summit will be held exclusively on Zoom and shall incorporate an interactive session for both our speakers, the participants and the WYA Africa alumni. The summit strives to provide a platform for the youth across the region to learn from local and international speakers on the importance of understanding policy formulation processes and how they impact and shape local policies.
Various research shows that Africa contains the biggest number of youth and they have the capability to drive the change in the region and this platform seeks to motivate more young people to be proactively engaged in governance for the promotion of person-centered policies.
