In preparation for the Rio +20 Conference on sustainable development, WYA Europe will be running a series of exciting events in Brussels to get young people thinking about where and how the person fits in the theme of sustainable development.
WYA members will also be invited to run their own Road to Rio Projects to become themselves ambassadors of a person-centred approach of sustainable development in their communities and country.
While we can all embrace efforts to help achieve long-term sustainable development, WYA’s aim is to ensure that the inherent dignity of the human person remains at the forefront of all development pursuits. Over the next 4 months, we’ll be looking at how the human person fits in with sustainable development by exploring the four themes of:
My self, my family, my community and my world.
