What do we have in store for October?

Gawad Kalinga is looking forward to holding one of the biggest events in Philippine history on October 6,7 and 8, 2006. Over 100,000 participants are expected to join the GK global Expo: “The Power of We” at the SM Mall of Asia.

Twelve GK villages will be set up at the SM Mall of Asia grounds to showcase the transformation of communities in various regions where the GK villages are. At the SM Cinemas, nine (9) forums will be held to discuss the priority programs for GK, share best practices, and explore further collaborations with partners for GK’s integrated and holistic community development work.  There will also be exhibits, competitions and concerts every night to celebrate the heroism of the Filipino.

As a partner with GK, WYAAP invites members and friends to check out the Expo this October!

What is SIGA?

SIGA is Gawad Kalinga’s Youth development program. The SIGA of each GK Community is composed of the young members of the community, ages 13 to 21. WYAAP members are working with GK volunteers in providing a holistic develoment program through creative arts, sports, productivity, health and values formation. We hope to provide opportunities for this generation to rise to their full potential!
