World Down Syndrome Day Activities and Events Series


The 21st of March is the World Down Syndrome Day. On this occasion, World Youth Alliance Europe, its chapters and Fondation Jérôme Lejeune will be holding a series of events and activities to raise awareness about Down syndrome in the European institutions and across Europe. The series of events held in the European Parliament in Strasbourg will begin the 9th of March and will run until the 12th of March, 2015.

The different events include:

  • Photo exhibition “A discovery for the life” in the Flower Carpet Area of the EP
  • Awarding ceremony of the International Prize Sisley-Jerome Lejeune
  • Scientific High-Level Conference about last development on Down Syndrome research and speech of the Commissioner for Research, Carlos Moedas (Tuesday 10/03, room – Salvador de Madariaga S7)
  • Mismatched socks awareness campaign in the European Parliament and on social media
