WYA UK

Welcome to WYA UK!

We may be kissing the EU goodbye, but WYA UK will always be a part of the European Region!

We are a small community of dedicated members who want to continue the work our alumni started. The UK has been a source of great talent for the World Youth Alliance and some of our most renowned Board Members, Alumni, Supporters and Friends are here. If you fancy the look of the website and you’d like to get involved take a look at our projects below:

WYA Reading Weeks

Start: Monday 6th of November 2017 at 10:00 AM
End: Sunday 12th of November 2017 at 12:00 PM
Venue: TBC

We offer university students the study the opportunity to make the most of their reading week by undertaking our training programme to gain a deeper understanding of human dignity and its relation to the philosophy of human rights. We also deepen our understanding of concepts which we hear so often they have become vacuous or clichés namely: freedom, solidarity and culture. Students will see the application of these concepts to both national and international policy issues. Recreational opportunities will also be offered in the heart of London.

Research: Barriers to Full-term Pregnancies: The economic profile of women who terminate their pregnancies in the UK.

Our Policy Analyst Raffaella Breeze is carrying out ground breaking research into the economic profile of women who seek to terminate their pregnancies in London. If we knew more about the difficulties that women face in carrying their pregnancies to term we might be able to:

  1. identify policy areas which are detrimental to pregnant women;
  2. perform further analysis to identify which are the factors which predict whether a woman will choose to have an abortion or keep the child;
  3. collate existing information about services provided by national charities which can support women with unplanned pregnancies.

If you would like to support our research with a donation please drop us a message on Facebook @WYAUK.
