The 9th edition of the European Emerging Leaders Conference took place between the 2nd and the 6th of November, online, under the topic “Youth for Women’s Health and Rights”. In order to bring together active young people, policy makers and experts, WYA Europe based the event on short lectures, discussions and debates.
The conference, sponsored by the European Youth Forum, featured a series of speakers: Ivana Grahovac, MD, President of the World Youth Alliance Hrvatska; Elisabeth Gudenus, Regional Director of the World Youth Alliance Europe and certified trainer for FEMM; Tomislav Sokol, PhD, Croatian politician who currently holds a seat as a member the European Parliament; and Mislav Barišić, Director of Advocacy for the World Youth Alliance Europe and former president of the World Youth Alliance Croatia.
During the conference, the participants learned more about health in general, and especially, women’s health. They discussed topics such as reproductive and sexual health and prepared a set of strategies to share the information and knowledge acquired. In the coming weeks the fruits of your work will be showed in the form of a “Manual for Women’s Health and Rights”.

ELC 2020, uma oportunidade de aprender sobre a saúde da mulher
A nona edição da Emerging Leaders Conference teve lugar no início do mês de novembro, entre os dias 2 e 6, via zoom, subordinada ao tema “Jovens pela Saúde e Direitos das Mulheres”. Com o objetivo de reunir jovens ativos e interventivos de toda a Europa, com decisores políticos e especialistas, a ELC, organizada pela WYA Europa, contou com uma série de palestras, atividades práticas, discussões e debates.
A conferência, patrocinada pelo Forum Europeu para a Juventude, contou com uma série de oradores: Ivana Grahovac, M.D., Presidente da World Youth Alliance Hrvatska; Elisabeth Gudenus, Diretora Regional da World Youth Alliance Europa e formadora certificada da FEMM; Tomislav Sokol, PhD, político croata que atualmente ocupa um lugar como membro do Parlamento Europei; e Mislav Barišić, o Diretor de Advocacy da World Youth Alliance Europa e antigo presidente da World Youth Alliance Croácia.
Durante a conferência, os jovens aprenderam mais sobre o tema da saúde, e em especial, sobre a saúde das mulheres, adquirindo conhecimentos na área da saúde reprodutiva e sexual. Prepararam uma série de estratégias de modo a divulgar informações relativas a direitos humanos, saúde e saúde das mulheres.
Nas próximas semanas os frutos do seu trabalho serão divulgados sob a forma de um “Manual de Estratégia para os Direitos e Saúde das Mulheres”.
