This April, WYA gives a warm welcome to our new WYA Latin America Program Officer, Paula Lopez!

“The World Youth Alliance does not only leave theory on the table but uses it. What I found here is a real representation of what excellence is, from the volunteer role up to the founder role.”

Prior to becoming the WYALA Program Officer, Paula is an active Certified Training Program (CTP) Trainer. She is also an Advocacy Fellow in the WYA Headquarters in New York where she helped work on different commissions in the United Nations in early 2020. Currently, Paula is a law degree candidate at the Universidad de La Sabana in Colombia.

“I chose to work for the World Youth Alliance because it inspires me every day to help others, to serve, and to find an end in everything I do on a daily basis. It guides me to increase my love for serving,” shares Paula when asked about what drew her to the organization.

As the Latin America Program Officer, Paula hopes to promote a culture of action through work in the region which will empower young people in the region to participate. “I believe that Latin America in the long term can contribute to the generation of policies and programs in the expansion process of the WYA, if and only if young people have access to the different initiatives that are offered through their different ways.”

WYA is excited to have you onboard, Paula!
