Road to Rio 2012 : A person-centred approach to sustainable development.

…Let WYA show you the WAY

In the run up to the Rio +20 Conference on sustainable development, WYA Europe will be running a series of exciting events in Brussels to get young people thinking about where and how the person fits in the theme of sustainable development.

Members will also be invited to run their own Road to Rio projects so that they can become themselves, ambassadors of a person-centre approach to sustainable development in their communities and country.

Economic development? Social development? Environmental protection?

While we can all embrace efforts to help achieve long-term sustainable development, WYA’s aim is to ensure that the inherent dignity of the human person remains at the forefront of all development pursuits.

Over the next 4 months, we’ll be looking at how the human person fits in with sustainable development by exploring the four themes of:

My self, my family, my community and my world.

Dates for your diary:

1) Self (Rock ’n’ Roll night, Tuesday, 28th February)

2) Family (Family footprint dinner, Friday 30th March)

3) Community (Volunteer activities, Tuesday 3rd & Saturday 29th April)

4) World (International dinner, Friday 11th May)
