The Christmas Season is finally here! And, we at the WYA Latin America office want to take a moment and say THANK YOU. Thank you, to everyone of you for being part of the World Youth Alliance family during this year. We appreciate your support and we would’ve not been able to everything we did without you.
The magic of this season never ends. So, let’s not forget the real meaning of this holiday season. As the Grinch has stated before, “Maybe Christmas doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps means a little bit more.” The greatest gift of all is family and friends and having the opportunity to spend time with them this season. I really hope you are in the company of your loved ones and in the true spirit of the holidays.
This season brings lots of happiness but it is also a time to give, share and love. Christmas is that special time of the year when, more than ever, we appreciate how privileged we are among many other people. And, in remembrance of the spirit of the holiday, our thoughts should turn gratefully to everyone.
Sharing is caring, it is an act of giving back. During this time of the year, we should try to give back and care for others even when we don’t know them. To share doesn’t need to be in a material sense. As Pablo Picasso once said, “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away”.
Together we can make a huge difference! Therefore, this is the best season to support and give back to the World Youth Alliance. There are many ways to do this. WYA does a great deal of work promoting the dignity of the person in policy to influence and transform culture, mainly with the help of our more than a million members worldwide. You can make the difference, support our work and change the world!
There are three main ways in which you WYA Latin America members can help promote a culture that respects and includes each and every one of us this holiday season and those are:
1. The first thing you can do is invite your family, friends, and everyone else you know to become members of WYA. The good news is that this is completely free of any cost! To become a member, you just need to sign the Charter here.
2. The second thing you can do and really impact in promoting a cultural change is to start a WYA Chapter and/or Club. Gather a couple of friends that want to take matters into their own hands and start promoting human dignity through activities conducted directly by you all.
3. The third final thing you can do is, you can give WYA a gift through a donation. This not only enables us to reach more members and train them but it helps us develop more projects. Consider giving WYA a gift no matter how small, you can access the donations page here.
Your support matters! Please keep enjoying the holidays but remember that this season is not only to be jolly but to care for people. With your support, we can continue to build a world that promotes human dignity.
