The World Youth Alliance is glad to introduce our new staff member from the USA, Breck Giltner.

Prior to her role as WYA’s Communications and Administrative Assistant, Breck studied Politics at the University of Dallas (UD). She also spent a semester after graduation at the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain. It was there that she met friends from the WYA Spain Chapter.  “(They) spoke to me about how incredible WYA’s mission is. After doing a bit of research, it didn’t take long for me to come to the same conclusion!”

Breck also enjoyed writing for the University News, planning events for the UD Pre-Law society, and learning more about the U.S. immigration debate by interning at the DHS Office of the Chief Counsel in Dallas and at a private immigration firm. She has had several years of experience as a camp counselor for leadership camps and volunteering as a mentor for leadership programs for young women in Houston, Dallas, and New York.

As part of the WYA team, Breck plans to  maximize the use of WYA’s existing communications outreach and work to make that outreach continue to grow, reaching many new young people.

The importance of empowering young people to take responsibility for and actively participate in shaping their culture and political community can’t be overstated. Having the opportunity to do that alongside a community of people who understand human dignity to be the fundamental basis of human rights, and who work to advocate for sustainable development, education, solidarity, the family, and respect for all human beings is a privilege,” shares Breck.

All the best on your WYA journey, Breck!
