WYAA AT THE KENYAN YOUTH CLIMATE CONFERENCE

The world Youth Alliance Africa was at Kenya’s youth gathering on climate change. The youth conference was held from 27th– 30th

October at the Multimedia University in Nairobi. The event was organized by Kenya youth climate network which is a movement by leading youth organizations among them St John community centre, Third movement, Africa Youth Initiative on climate change, World Youth Alliance Africa among others. The aim of the conference was capacity building for youth leaders across Kenya in issues of adaptation and mitigation of climate change. Among the sponsors of the event was the office of the Prime Minister and Norwegian church aid.

The World Youth Alliance was represented by Maisara Othman and Sharon Muriuki – former interns, Alpha Gitau –an intern and Hezbon Mogambi, the Regional Director of Operations.WYA distributed brochures, the declaration on responsible stewardship, held one on one meetings within different regions with an aim to hold intro sessions and Hezbon Mogambi spoke at the plenary on the work of the World Youth Alliance and how the more than 140 delegates could benefit from our advocacy, training and cultural initiatives.
