A mini carnival came to life as World Youth Alliance Asia Pacific (WYAAP) held its second Dignitea Party for 2016 last May 27. The event was attended by over 20 guests, mostly friends and classmates of the current WYAAP interns and staff.
The carnival project heads, Melanna Ocampo and Zanelle Boling, prepared an interesting line up of carnival games that they themselves came up with such as Pop the Balloon and Spin the Wheel. They also prepared Filipino party food favorites like hotdogs with marshmallows on a stick, fried chicken, and pansit–a local version of stir-fried noodles–and a Filipino favorite.
The guests were in for a surprise when regional intern, Ahsaas Verma, hyped the crowd with his Hip Hop dance skills, as he performed a solo number to the song, Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars. The rest of the interns then capped off the evening by performing a rendition of It’s Time by Imagine Dragons.
Before closing the event, the WYAAP team announced their upcoming events including a photo exhibit this July, a skills workshop series, and the 5th Asia Pacific Emerging Leaders Conference.
Watch out for more!
