July 9, 2020 Manila, Philippines – World Youth Alliance (WYA) officially launches a new WYA Chapter in the Asia Pacific region – in India! Founded by certified member Saurabh Bhoyar, the chapter hopes to bring together young people in India to promote dignity through advocacy, education and culture.
Saurabh started his career with the Indian Coast Guard as a Marine Technical Officer. Along with this, he has great passion for addressing crucial issues plaguing young people in his region. Through the promotion of dignity, he wants to be able to empower young people to participate in building their communities up and creating a culture that values the human person.
As an engineer, he hopes to “integrate his knowledge and expertise in technology with youth empowerment”, and have more local efforts be noticed soon in international platforms such as the United Nations.
Earlier this year, Saurabh traveled to the Philippines to undergo the World Youth Alliance Asia Pacific Regional Internship and the Certified Training Program. Through events and networking, he had a fruitful experience getting to know the Philippine culture and was so inspired by the WYA mission, that he worked towards the creation of his own chapter.
The WYA India Chapter was finalized on July 9, 2020. The chapter is now welcoming new members who are interested in getting involved in WYA’s work in advocacy, education, and culture for the promotion of human dignity in communities.
