On the 28th of March, Anna Halpine, founder of World Youth Alliance, had the chance to deliver the keynote speech at the UNIV Congress in Rome.
Every year the UNIV Congress gathers thousands of university students from around the world in Rome where they come to expand their horizons, exchange ideas, and constructively reflect on the most important issues of today’s youth and society.
“Rethinking the Future” was the topic of this year’s edition, trying to answer the deepest questions of the human person: “Where do I come from? Where am I going? What do I want to do? When you know who you are and what role you play in the world, your perspectives and horizons open up, and you can propose changes in society to make it better.”
This year was the 50th anniversary of the Congress, and Anna Halpine had the honor to do the keynote speech in front of all of these young students. Anna was happy to address such a great audience in search of a better understanding of Human Dignity because we have to make sure “that our conscience is tuned to the crisis in the world that is around us”, and the UNIV Congress is a great tool for such purpose. The Founder of World Youth Alliance lectured extensively on the history of our organization and how “Rethinking the Future” has always been a key element of the growth of WYA. “Success lies in creatively engaging reality as it is”, Anna told the young enthusiastic participants.
In the second day of the conference, WYA Europe Directors, Antoine Mellado and Hrvoje Vargić gave a media training and a workshop on Sustainable Development to the big group of UNIV participants.
It was a great opportunity for World Youth Alliance to participate in the UNIV Congress and we are looking forward to the fruitful collaboration in the future.
