Asia Pacific 2013 MIFF winners receive Ani ng Dangal awards

Adrielle Esteban and Inshallah Montero, two of the top five winners of the 2013 Manhattan International Film Festival (MIFF), were awarded during the 6th Ani ng Dangal Awards or Harvest of Honors by the National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA) of the Philippines at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila last February 2, 2014.

Esteban, a student of the University of the Philippines, directed “Tanglaw” while Montero, a student of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), directed “Man of Squares.” Their films were also shown last July 4, 2013 during the Manila Screening of the MIFF at the School of Design and Arts of DLS-CSB.

“Ani ng Dangal,” organized by NCCA under the Office of the President of the Republic of the Philippines, is a state recognition given to Filipino artists who have earned international awards from the past year. The Ani ng Dangal Awards also serves as a culminating night of the National Arts Month of the Philippines.
