June 30, 2010

Distinguished, Fernando Guzmán Pérez-Peláez, Secretary General of government of Jalisco State, Priscila Vera, Director of the Mexican Institute of Youth, Sergio Tabares, Director of the Youth Institute of Jalisco. Voluntary Directors, volunteers, and Youth, that with your job well done and effort have made possible the development of our country and the State of Jalisco.

Before I begin, I would like to give thank for the opportunity given to World Youth Alliance to participate in this event.

It is a great honor for me to represent today various Civil society organizations of the State of Jalisco, in a day in which we have to celebrate and recognize the work and actions of our youth, committed to the greatest cause we could ever have. A cause that makes up our principles and the depths of what we work for, so special.

We the Young people, are committed to make the recognition of the dignity of the human person, a reality, which means to recognize each one another as someone else like me that is worth giving our life for, and that deserves to be treated with love, solidarity, we work hard to create, and work actively, in an organized and professional manner, to make our surroundings and reality more just.

What can we make this critical work be done in a world that as each day passes is asking for fast, practical results?

This effort flows through our effective commitment to causes dedicated to the promotion of personal well-being and development, social and communitarian development, the promotion of human, social and political rights, engaged with gender equality and complementarity between men and women, creating opportunities for all and roadways and projects towards the eradication of poverty and promoting health, life, living space and Jobs that are worthy to all.

The Youth present here see in the depths of our intentions, aspirations and our work, the reflection of all humanity in each person, our work aspires to improve the standards of life and its developments of this and the future generations.

Participating in this Pre-State Conference of the World Youth Conference is a once in a lifetime opportunity. In light of our country’s festivities of the Bicentenary of Mexico’s Independence, Mexico is the host of this World Summit.  Participar de la Pre Conferencia Estatal de la Conferencia Mundial de Juventud es una oportunidad única en la vida. In this special moment, the world’s eyes will be looking at our country and our Youth. This will also fulfill one of my deepest desires, that we strive with all of our energies to fulfill this Millennium’s goals, look at the face of every Young persons that together with the government, parliamentarians, we reflect over the social, political, and public policy proposals necessary to promote life, dignity, better standards of living and over all development.

As one of the most famous characters of History of the twentieth century said, we are united today to affirm that we won’t be used as instruments of violence and destruction, we will defend peace, even at the cost of our own lives.  Como diría uno de los personajes más grandes de la Historia del Siglo veinte. We will not conform to a world that has everything to develop itself but human beings are dying of hunger, are illiterate, suffer, are unemployed and living alone. The Youth of this century is committed to defend life and the development of our surroundings, that we will one day inherit to future generations. We will make an effort, with all of our energies to make this earth, hospitable for everyone.

We hope that the World Youth Conference creates the necessary conditions that we need to make our ideals become global realities.

I am sure that the results of today’s work will create a solid base to continue this battle and to develop and practice more sustainable development projects that reach our objectives and the objectives of the conference in every level.

Thank you very much.
