WYA Honors Elizabeth Budnik, Launches Matching Grant for Tanzania

WYA is delighted to honor Elizabeth Budnik with the Mary R. Smith Award at this year’s WYA 20 Dinner. The award recognizes individuals who have rendered distinguished service to the mission of WYA. A matching grant for Tanzania to support the implementation of the Human Dignity Curriculum and Fertility Education and Medical Management was also launched at the annual dinner.

WYA Pens Partnership with University of Sabana – Colombia

Last October 15, WYA officially penned a partnership with the University of Sabana in Bogota, Colombia. The partnership lists the WYA internship as among the university’s selection of programs that can be taken by students undergoing their internship requirement for a semester. It is set to begin by 2020.

New York and Nairobi Classrooms Welcome the HDC

The HDC makes it mark on three schools this fall. In the Bronx, over 20 faculty and staff members of the Holy Cross Elementary School were trained to teach the HDC from Grades K-8. Meanwhile, St. Catherine Primary School and St. Elizabeth Primary School in Nairobi, Kenya began its implementation of the curriculum following a teacher training in early 2019.
