Keep Moving Forward: The Emerging Leaders of the Arab Region

Rabat

The World Youth Alliance – Middle East initiated the implementation of the Emerging Leaders of the Arab Region project as of November 2014. The project is funded by the UN Democracy Fund and targets four countries: Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia and Morocco. The program consists of 4 rounds of training over a period of 6 months for each country.

Today, we have finished two rounds of training and on our way to beginning the 3rd round. We have managed to train 329 young leaders residing in the 4 countries. These participants have successfully completed the workshops and volunteering hours. In addition, they have implemented 36 community awareness activities in remote areas and capitals, varying from artistic competitions on the topic of human rights and democracy to awareness activities on the role of the youth in development projects.

The project will conclude by the end of 2016. We estimate to reach out to 620 young participants, and to complete 40 national workshops, 12 000 volunteering hours and 80 community awareness activities.
