The World Youth Alliance (WYA) is delighted to announce the selection of Mary Imbong as the next World Youth Alliance Asia Pacific (WYAAP) Regional Director. Mary became a WYA member in 2012 when she started her internship at the Asia Pacific office. Since then she has continued volunteering for WYA as she found fulfillment in working with young, energetic, and creative people in building a culture of hope.
Mary heightened her involvement through contributing to various WYA events and projects. She became a regional intern, participated at the WYAAP Summer Camp in 2012, helped organize the first WYAAP Emerging Leaders Conference, and just recently facilitated the 2015 WYAAP Summer Camp, among many others.
Beyond the region, Mary also completed an internship in 2013 at the WYA headquarters in New York City. During her stay, she was able to manage successful projects and represent WYA at international events and conferences including those held at the United Nations.
Besides her dedication to development work, Mary carries a passion for the Humanities and the Arts. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication, specializing in Film production, along with a Minor degree in Philosophy, both from Ateneo de Manila University. Prior to being selected as WYAAP Regional Director, Mary worked in the Advertising industry with McCann Worldgroup Manila.
Her commitment to making creative solutions has been fueled by her independent work as a Multimedia Artist, specializing in Paper Art and Graphic Design.
Mary will officially begin leading WYAAP as its new Regional Director in October 2015.
