The World Youth Alliance Latin America will host the first annual Costa Rica Emerging Leaders Conference on May 24th in San José, Costa Rica. The conference theme will be Sustainable Development: The Priority of Persons and will take place at the “Universidad Latinoamericana de Ciencia y Teconología” (ULACIT).
This year the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio+20, will take place in Rio de Janeiro in June 2012 . Rio +20 is the follow-up to the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development. This Conference will determine the sustainable development agenda for the next 20 years.
At the World Youth Alliance, we believe it is very important for young people to be informed about what Sustainable Development is, and how we participate by expressing the real needs of young people.
For this reason we invite you to join us on May 24th starting at 8:00am at ULACIT and find out about what is happening in the world and in your region regarding Sustainable Development, as well as letting us know what are your concerns about what the agenda at Rio+20 should take into account.
