“The Drama of Human Existence” – Europe launches Viviamo! Summer School 2007

World Youth Alliance Europe launches 2007 Viviamo! Summer School in Romania

‘The Drama of Human Existence’ is the title of WYA’s second European Summer School that will take place in the city of Targu Mures in Romania from 6th – 17th of August 2007. The Summer School is designed to deepen young people’s understanding of what it means to live.  

Viviamo! was launched last year to commemorate the United Nations 2006 celebration of HabitatViviamo! has since grown into a major global project of World Youth Alliance featuring summer camps and grassroots development projects, coordinated from different Regional Offices in cooperation with chosen Partner Organisations. The European Summer School will provide an opportunity for young people to live, work and study together, building solidarity and reflecting on the role of literature, culture and interpersonal relations in the life of an individual and in the shaping of society.

"In the course of life, a person has a certain role to perform". These are the words of Fr Józef Tischner, a well known figure of Poland’s Solidarność movement who struggled for human dignity in the 1980s. "In theatre, we call it a role" he added, "in Christianity it is called a vocation. However, in everyday life one must also look for that vocation. And it is a huge problem to find this one particular role and to perform it well". Click here to read more
