The World Youth Alliance Middle East Regional Office has been implementing the Emerging Leaders of the Arab Region project. The project seeks to direct the energy and potential of youth in 4 Arab states towards constructively building free, just, and democratic societies. It will connect and build the capacities of 620 youths on the topics of freedom, democracy, and human rights along with a module on civic engagement and leadership skills.
Capacity building is both theoretical and practical through a Training of Trainers, 2 regional forums, 40 national workshops, and 80 community activities across 4 Arab States, and regular teleconference meetings through effective use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
WYAME found itself accomplishing the 1rst year of the 2 years spam project. Therefore, a mid-project evaluation meeting with the 20 opinion shapers was required after completing the first and second round of workshops.
The objective was to evaluate performance of the opinion shapers which was reviewed and improved during the 3-day mid-project evaluation meeting that took place from December 9th till 11th, in Beirut, Lebanon.
WYAME acting as an implementing agency for the UNDEF funded project was happy to host the opinion shapers from Tunisia, Jordan, Morocco and Lebanon.
