Wanted: Asia Pacific Director

The World Youth Alliance Asia Pacific [WYAAP] is looking for a creative, committed, dynamic young person who loves to meet and work with people, works well independently and in groups, likes leading projects and travelling among many other things. The WYAAP Director assumes some of these responsibilities:

  • Affirms and promotes the dignity of the human person
  • Meets and works with young people from all over the Philippines, region and other parts of the world
  • Invites young people to join the World Youth Alliance as individuals and member organizations
  • Trains and works with young people all over the region on projects and programs
  • Works with the Regional Director of Operations, the Regional and National Committees to implement the mission and vision of the organization on the regional and national levels
  • Works with the global team of World Youth Alliance on projects and programs; the Director also attends bi-annual staff council meetings in the World Youth Alliance International Headquarters in New York and when necessary, the United Nations Headquarters in New York and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission in Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok, Thailand

Candidates for consideration will be interviewed by the regional staff. The selected candidate must complete a six-month internship with the first half in the regional office in Manila and the other in the International office in New York before starting his/her post in June 2007.
