It’s our birthday month and we’re celebrating with a whole string of exciting events! Join us at our WYA Birthday Gala On March 21st and dance the night away as we celebrate 16 years of success. Celebrate directors from around the world promoting human dignity by catching our Manhattan International Film Festival screenings from March 20 – 21. Be part of the global meeting of our trained members at the International Solidarity Forum, from March 23 – 26, to discuss international development and the role of health and education. We’re giving you lots of ways to join our celebration so we hope to see you there!
Manhattan International Film Festival events include an opening night address by Dr. Joseph Kickasola, Assistant professor of film and digital media at Baylor University. Screenings of short films by 9 young directors with critique from Stuart Tanner, acclaimed producer and director of documentary films for the BBC, National Geographic, the Discovery Channel, and others. The theme of the ISF will be ‘Health and Education: Keys to Development’ and will bring together members from across the world, experts on issues related to health and education and diplomats.
In addition to expert lectures and UN-style negotiations to draft a declaration on health and education, World Youth Alliance will hold an advocacy training and in-depth trainings on FEMM and the Human Dignity Curriculum (HDC), a curriculum designed to help students develop a proper understanding of themselves, their great worth as persons and the responsibility they have to act in accordance with their dignity.
