This April, World Youth Alliance (WYA) and Centro Internazionale di Animazione Missionaria (CIAM) launches “What’s Your #WYAStory”, a campaign promoting the online publication of 12 exceptional WYA members from the Africa, Asia Pacific, and Middle East regions.
Entitled “On Vocation & Destiny: A Study in the Human Person & Marriage”, the folio of essays is the culminating output of the 3-day Youth Colloquium hosted by WYA and CIAM last December 6-8, 2017 in Rome.
In WYA President Lord Pomperada’s introduction in the publication, he discussed how the colloquium “addressed challenges of cultural and political upheaval, while still addressing the personal questions of vocation and what it means to choose to live in counter-cultural ways, through commitment to a vocation, commitment to self-giving service, and the intersection of the personal and public challenges that these options raise.”
The philosophical and theological work of Saint John Paul II, as well the readings in WYA’s Certified Training Program, formed the foundational readings of the study seminar with a purpose to find a universal language that will discuss the interrelation between the human person and his vocation in the landscape of inter-religious and intercultural dialogue.
The 12 members were chosen through a joint process of nomination and application, with primary consideration on their completion of WYA’s foundational training on the dignity of the person as well as their active participation as WYA trainers and national committee members in their respective regions.
The full publication is now available for viewing.
