William P. Mumma to Give Keynote Address on Population and Economics

On October 31st the World Youth Alliance and First Things will co-sponsor a lecture by William P. Mumma, "Population and Economics." As the U.N. has predicted that the world’s population will reach an all time high of 7 billion by the end of October, this lecture seeks to engage the public on the topic of the value of human capital. Mr. Mumma’s lecture will be the key note address of the WYA North America Emerging Leaders Conference.

Mr. Mumma, President of the Becket Fund, has had a distinguished career in leadership. With degrees from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and Columbia University, Mumma ran the global derivative business for Bankers Trust Company. Following this he was an Executive Managing Director at Nomura Securities International and since 2008 is the President and CEO of Mitsubishi UFJ Securities USA. He is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Georgetown University’s Tocqueville Forum on the Roots of American Democracy.

The lecture will begin at 6:30 pm at First Things Headquarters 35 East 21st Street, #600, New York, NY. Following the lecture, at 8pm, all are invited to the Birthday Party and Celebration for Baby 7 Billion at the World Youth Alliance Headquarters 228 East 71st Street New York, NY.
