WYA Africa successfully hosted the 2nd Africa Arts Forum at the Michael Joseph Centre, Safaricom House in Nairobi, Kenya on November 12, 2016. The Annual Regional Arts Forum brings together young people who are art enthusiasts or are interested in learning more about art and culture.
“The forum encouraged the African youth to have the will to express the dignity of a human person in a joyful and sheer way, in the modern world,” Regional Intern Leila Kamweru shared.
The daylong event brought together different artists who showcased their artwork and talents during the event. The AAF 2016 was a way through which young artists could also get mentorship, advice, and encouragement through the different speakers who graced the event.
The event, themed Art and Dignity, hopes to educate the Africa youth on the important relationship between art and human dignity. Additionally, WYA Africa hopes to inspire young art enthusiasts to promote dignity through their art and that they will be able to portray art in the light of a fundamental aspect of our human existence.
WYA Africa wishes to thank all of the attendees and their official event partner, Safaricom.
