Friday, February 12, 2021, Kenya – The World Youth Alliance Africa conducted the first Human Dignity Curriculum (HDC) training for the first quarter of 2021. The training that saw 27 teachers from the Cornerstone Preparatory Academy and 3 interns from the World Youth Alliance Africa was completed successfully at Cornerstone Preparatory Academy in Longonot Kenya.
The World Youth Alliance team arrived at the school quite early and they were warmly received by the Head Teacher Ms. Zipporah who gave the team a short tour of the school before leading the WYA team to the dining hall for lunch. After lunch, the training began with brief introductions from both the World Youth Alliance Africa team and the Cornerstone Preparatory Academy staff followed by fun ice-breakers to brighten the mood.
The training was very interactive and the enthusiasm of the teachers in receiving the content was evident throughout the session. This could be seen by the way they enjoyed the simulation exercises while teaching various concepts.
The Human Dignity Curriculum (HDC) is a curriculum program developed by the World Youth Alliance. The curriculum aims to teach young people, from ages 4-18 values of the human person, human dignity, human freedom, and human excellence.
