WYA Africa Conducts a successful Youth Summit

Saturday, July 18, 2020 – The World Youth Alliance Africa conducted a successful youth summit with members from around Africa on the theme “The Role of the Youth in Good Governance”. The summit which was broadcasted live on WYA Africa’s Facebook page brought together young people from over 20 countries in Africa.

The summit started with a brief introduction from the WYA Africa Director of Operations, Kevin Alando, who was the moderator during the summit. This was followed by speaker sessions from Caroline Shisubili Maingi, who spoke about the role of the youth in good governance followed by Nadja Wolfe, who spoke on the topic of understanding international law and how international treaties affect policies at the national level.

The wonderful presentations by the speakers were then followed by a question and answer session where the participants were so enthusiastic to ask questions and make comments on the topics discussed. The summit ended with closing remarks from Kevin Alando. We extend a special appreciation to our speakers, Caroline and Nadja, the participants and the Director of Marketing and WYA Africa Regional Director, Demy and Cynthia respectively for making the summit a success.
