29 September 2016—WYA Africa officially handed over boxes of books collected from the book drive undertaken by our intern alumna from the batch 1 internship of 2015, Tany Kigany from Togo. It was turned over to Ian from Cre8ivespills.
WYA Africa is proud to be part of such initiatives that ensure people can have access to important literary works that go a long way in building vocabulary and enhancing good diction. The books will be part of a book club and campaign called ‘Rising Voices’ that encourages young upcoming artists in poetry, spoken word and other forms of artistic expression. This is important for WYA as it also builds up on what we do in promoting dignity through the Arts Forum. Juliet Chepkurui currently part of batch 3 interns for 2016, continues with this as her dignity project to encourage membership.
