2016 has been a year, full of so much growth, transition and change for WYA Africa, we elected to choose the theme Celebrate Life for the End of Year Barbecue in order to continue to voice our mission to promote the dignity of the human person and in so doing proclaim that every life has value.
In addition, we wanted to celebrate all who had been part of making our 2016 awesome. We also honoured the late Vanessa, our RDO who passed away in October 2016. The day was marked with music, laughter, games and relaxed interaction amidst the quiet echo of the absence of part of our team, we chose to honour her by making this day a true celebration.
The attendees who graced the event were a mix of new WYA members from the ELC 2016 and Furaha Camp 2016, WYA friends from previous years, and even former staff. Their presence made the day beautiful. We enjoyed the promised “nyama choma” (roast meat) and had some “mbuzi choma therapy” as we sizzled with dignity.
We take this gracious opportunity to thank all the WYA Africa members, friends & family who graced the end of year barbecue. We look forward to a bigger and better, 2017 as we trust to have an even greater crowd at our end of year barbecue in 2017.
