Tuesday, June 15, 2021 – The World Youth Alliance Africa joined the first Human Dignity Curriculum (HDC) class at the Cornerstone Preparatory Academy. The school signed a new partnership with the WYA Africa to teach the HDC in the school beginning with Grades 1, 4, and 9. These were the first classes of HDC held after a year-long break due to Covid-19 that affected the school calendar in the country. The selected grades will see 74 students undertake the Human Dignity Curriculum Classes.
The Cornerstone Preparatory School is a fully registered privately owned school providing education to poor and disadvantaged children around Longonot, Mai Mahiu, Governor, Kamore, and Munengi areas near Longonot Township in Kenya. The school was founded in 2016, with the vision to empower the children to become part of the answer to the cry of many destitute children.
The World Youth Alliance Africa team led by the Regional Directors visited the students in the 3 grades undergoing the curriculum as they held the first introductory classes. The WYAA interns also got a chance to interact with the students and take part in some of the activities for the introductory session. Both the school and WYAA are very excited about this new partnership and are looking forward to having more students take the curriculum after these initial grades.
