Saturday, October 10, 2020 – The World Youth Alliance Africa held the first session of the “FEMM Know the Basics Webinar Series.” The session is the first of a three-part series webinar organized by WYA Africa to run for the month of October.
Led by the WYA Africa Regional Director, Cynthia Wangari, WYA Africa aims to engage the growing community of FEMM teacher trainers and introduce FEMM to more women in the Africa region. The First session titled: “Introduction to FEMM and the Human anatomy” touched on the basic introduction to the Fertility Education and Medical Management (FEMM) Program, which is a program by the WYA sister organization and was developed to help women to understand their reproductive health and make informed decisions about their well-being.
The session was led by Caroline Ouma, a Certified FEMM teacher from Kenya. Caroline is the founder and director of Family Management Consultants (FMC) and a full-time wife and mother. Professionally she is a Counselling Psychologist and Fertility Education and Medical Management (FEMM) instructor for both teens and adult women. She has over 10 years’ experience in running youth mentorship programs and giving talks and workshops to parents on parenting. She uses all her skills to run FMC whose mission is to help the family unit thrive as she firmly believes that the family is the atom of society.
The next session will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at 11:00 AM (GMT+3) and will cover the topic: “Understanding biomarkers and the physiology of the cycle.”
