WYA Asia Pacific to speak at 17th Civitas Asia National Student Conference

The University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) and World Youth Alliance Asia Pacific (WYA AP) invite all World Youth Alliance members in the Philippines to participate to the upcoming 17th Civitas Asia National Student Conference with the theme
Building the Filipino: The Road to ASEAN Competency from November 12 to 14, 2014 at UA&P.

On November 14, WYA AP Regional Director Lord Leomer Pomperada will be speaking at the closing ceremonies on the topic A Portrait of the ASEAN Integrated Filipino. There will also be a WYA AP booth during the 3-day conference where students can learn more about upcoming WYAAP activities and sign-up as WYA members.

Formally launched in 1997, Civitas Asia or CivAsia are annual conferences in education and culture that are anchored together by an arching theme: civilization is constituted by reasoned conversation. Civilization cannot exist, much less develop, without meaningful, creative, and managed communication—without intelligent or reasoned conversation.

The objectives of CivAsia are:
(1) to help bridge the Asia-Pacific community;
(2) to assert the role of the academe in development; and
(3) to sustain and nurture the leaders of the Asia-Pacific community.

Registration fee is PhP 1,500 inclusive of meals and conference materials. Delegates consisting of five members may also avail of the group rate PhP 7,000 inclusive of meals and conference materials. Deadline of registration is on November 5, 2014 (Wednesday).
