International WYA Conference in Vienna
From May 25 to May 27, 2018, World Youth Alliance Austria collaborated with WYA Lebanon, SSMH, AMJE and WYA Europe to hold an event in Vienna on European Youth Strategy.
From April 16 to April 20, 2018, World Youth Alliance (WYA) staff members, Hrvoje Vargić, and Elisabeth Gudenus held a CTP training Krakow together with WYA Poland chapter leader Beata Wylaź. The training had 11 participants, 7 of which were certified so far with more certifications scheduled.
From April 3 to April 8, 2018, World Youth Alliance (WYA) Europe Regional Director, Hrvoje Vargić, and Reginal Director of Operations, Anita Dekanić, visited the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo – in order to train new WYA members. All of the participants were certified online 2 weeks later.
WYA Europe Staff participates in Medical Management Training in Lublin
From March 2-4 2018, FEMM and the Reproductive Health Research Institute (RHRI) held their third annual European Medical Management Training. The conference was held in Lublin, Poland, and over 100 doctors and medical practitioners from various European countries were in attendance. The next Medical Management Training will be held in Budapest, Hungary in March 2019.
In April the heartbreaking case of Alfie Adams shook the world: The two year old boy was hospitalized for several months with an unknown neurodegenerative condition. The hospital caring for him sought and ultimately received permission to remove assisted ventilation, against his parents’ wishes. This is WYA’s statement on the case.
From March 7 to 9, 2018, Forum Plus International Institute organized its first international conference on social engagement at the European Parliament in Brussels. The conference gathered around 60 young people from all over Europe, together with the members of the European Parliament (MEP’s), experts, and civil society representatives. WYA Europe Director of Advocacy, Antoine Mellado spoke at the panel on “Family in a Contemporary European Context”, together with the other experts working in this field with the EU.
WYA European Arts Forum 2018: Arts and Common Values
Join us for the fourth European Arts Forum held in Brussels. This year’s theme is ‘Arts and Common Values’ and will take place in Brussels from the 23rd to the 27th of June 2018. The Forum will simultaneously exhibit the diverse work of young artists from across Europe and equip the youth with the tools necessary to fully accept and support common European values of human dignity, freedom, tolerance and respect for human rights. The exhibition can range from musical and dancing performances, sculpture, painting, to jewelry making, and coffee bean mosaics.
