WYA Founder, Anna Halpine, will speak on Thursday, August 18th at 3:30pm at the Love and Life site–the largest English speaking site at World Youth Day–on the topic of A Knowledge-Based Approach to Reproductive Health: Understanding Biology and Making Future Minded Decisions.
The battle to protect and defend human life and dignity is fought in a very real way in the arena of reproductive health and sex education. The prevailing means encourage an agenda of recreational sex, mutual usury and moral relativism and have led to a dramatic rise in the number of abortions, incidence of STIs and the spread of HIV, not to mention devastating emotional effects.
The biological and social nature of human sexuality demands an approach to reproductive health that takes the whole person into account. The World Youth Alliance recognizes that a knowledge-based approach to reproductive health will help persons to understand more fully their physiological and reproductive capacities and more importantly will develop a greater respect of our biological potential and wonder. It proposes to develop a more holistic and healthy identity by placing sexuality within its proper context of a person’s whole life, their goals, desires and purpose. This approach is critical to ensuring long-term health and well-being, and empowering women and men with the skills and character to make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual choices, marriage and child-rearing and educational, career and vocational goals.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Anna speak about this important issue and the innovative ways in which the World Youth Alliance is seeking to address it!
