ILOILO CITY, January 6, 2018–World Youth Alliance (WYA) Iloilo Chapter successfully held its 2nd Adulting 101 conference last January 5 to 6, 2018 in the province of Iloilo in the Philippines.
Now in its second year, Adulting 101, themed, “Seeing the World through Different Lenses,” was organized to inspire self-development among its young delegates, and to equip them with anecdotes and tips from professionals from various industries. The event welcomed over 70 delegates from different schools in the province, 25 volunteers from WYAAP, and 15 plenary speakers from different backgrounds. Among the speakers was WYA President and Iloilo local, Lord Leomer Pomperada.
The conference featured talks about life, smart spending, time management, etiquette, careers in art & science, youth opportunities, Iloilo heritage, and the Ilonggo culture. Besides loaded plenary sessions, the event also brought dynamic activities and dances for participants to engage in.
WYA Iloilo Chapter President, Rejean Marie Darroca, headed and organized the event along with volunteers from inside and outside Iloilo province. Sara Abu El Hawa, a former delegate of the 2017 Adulting 101, co-headed this year’s event as overall Programs Head. Former WYA staff, Zarina San Jose also participated as a plenary speaker and volunteer.
