The regional office for Latin America was in Washington DC the past 24th and 25th of April attending the “11th Hemispheric Forum with Civil Society & Social Actors” of the Organization of American States in preparation for the General Assembly.
The forum united approximately 50 participants from: Argentina, Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Trinidad & Tobago, United States and Venezuela.
These participants dialogued in three different working groups. The first was “Development and Social Inclusion”, the second “Social Exclusion Impact on Governance” and the third group was about “Social and Economic Human Rights”. All of these groups gave recommendations regarding their topic for the Draft-Resolution of Asunción that will be presented officially during the General Assembly in Paraguay this June.
World Youth Alliance Latin America now awaits the OAS’s GA for the parallel event for Civil Society to discuss and advice more this intergovernmental organization about “Development with Social Inclusion”.
