WYA Marches for Life

On Friday January 22, The World Youth Alliance participated in the 42nd Annual March For Life in Washington DC.  The March For Life takes place on the anniversary of the 1973 Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the United States.  The 2016 event theme was “Pro-Life And Pro-Women Go Hand In Hand”.  Abortion eliminates the life of society’s most vulnerable, and it seriously harms the health of the mother.  By participating in the world’s largest pro-life event, WYA united with thousands of participants to provide a voice for the voiceless and to defend the life of all women and unborn children.

Representing WYA were:  Lord Pomperada (WYA President), Nadja Wolfe (Director of Advocacy), Pauline Go (North America Director of Operations), and Julia Kenney (North America Intern).  Before the march, the WYA representatives gathered with other non-government organizations (NGOs) for a pre-march assembly.  Then, they attended the pre-march rally where they heard from over 13 speakers including senators, organizational leaders, and a former NFL player.

Walking to the beat of bagpipes and drums, WYA joyfully advocated that dignity of every human person from the moment of conception until natural death as the fundamental value of society.
