WYA NA Heads to the March for Life

On January 27, 2017, the WYA NA staff, interns and members will travel from New York City and join thousands of others in Washington D.C. for the 44th annual March for Life.

The March for Life is an annual event where people come together to peacefully protest the decision made in the 1973 Roe vs. Wade court case that legalized abortion in the United States. The March for Life has grown into the largest pro-life event in the world: hundreds of thousands of people gather together to show their support of pro-life legislation. Students from universities, families, and individuals all come together and stand united to respect human dignity. They march united on the streets of Washington DC, beginning at the National Mall and ending at the foot of the steps of the Supreme Court, in hopes of demonstrating to the nation’s capital that they do not agree with the legislation put in place. The theme of the march this year is “Power of One.”

WYA believes in defending human dignity from the moment of conception to natural death. An important recognition of this intrinsic dignity is the right to life and so WYA will march in hopes of changing legislation to reflect a more respectful view on the dignity of the human person.
