January 24, 2020, Washington, DC – Last Friday, World Youth Alliance North America joined thousands of others at the March for Life in Washington DC. The yearly event coincides with the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, which legalized abortion in all 50 states. The March was bigger than ever this year with hundreds of thousands of marchers braving the cold to stand up for the dignity of all human persons.
The March began 46 years ago on the one year anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision. Since then, the march has only grown in size and importance. The day began with a rally on the national mall with President Donald Trump giving the keynote speech. After the rally, the thousands gathered marched up to Constitution Avenue past the Capital Building and arriving at the Supreme Court.
The next day, WYA NA attended the 21st annual Cardinal O’Connor Conference on Life at Georgetown University. Among the speakers at the conference were WYA Founder Anna Halpine and WYA Adviser George Weigel. Members of WYA chapters at Benedictine College and Boston College were among some of the students in attendance.
WYA NA would like to thank all those who joined us at the March for Life. We look forward to marching again next year.
