August 1, 2019, Iași, Romania – World Youth Alliance Romania Chapter started the implementation of the Human Dignity Curriculum in partnership with one of the city’s kindergartens.
One year after World Youth Alliance (WYA) opened a national Chapter in Iași, Romania, WYA members successfully took their first steps in the implementation of the Human Dignity Curriculum (HDC) in the country. The pilot project was made possible through a partnership with the Kido Club, a local summer-school for children in the city of Iași.
The first lesson started on August 1, while the entire course is expected to run until September 1, 2019, which usually marks the end of the summer-school for children at the kindergarten.
“We are teaching 15 children the basics of human dignity, in order to be conscious of their decisions, to learn about human beings and live a free and happy life with a strong sense of meaning”, say Ioana and Adelina, the Chapter’s HDC teachers.
WYA Romania is one of WYA’s newest National Committees, with WYA members present in two cities, Iași and Cluj-Napoca. The members are already working on the next steps of further implementation of the HDC in the country’s kindergartens and schools, with the next implementation cycle planned for October.
