April 24-27, 2019, Pristina, Kosovo – World Youth Alliance Southeast Europe (WYA SEE) and WYA Albania held a joint Certified Training Program (CTP) in the capital of Kosovo. The event included the training of two new CTP trainers from the WYA Kosovo Chapter.
The WYA Kosovo Chapter was established in 2018. As the interest for engaging with WYA grew in the local youth, the Chapter organized a new cycle of the CTP. The training was conducted by Director of WYA SEE, Valentino Findrik, and a CTP trainer from WYA Albania, Megi Hadushi.
“It was a great pleasure to re-experience the material as a trainer and see an incredibly talented group of people work together sharing WYA’s mission. This was such a valuable collaboration between WYA Albania and WYA Kosovo, which I believe is a predecessor of many other joint activities to come, as the training will serve as a bridge to strengthen the partnership between our organizations.” (Megi, WYA Albania)
The trainees benefited significantly from the presence of the WYA Albania trainer, as they were able to engage in discussions in their native language, which additionally helped them apply the core CTP ideas to their concrete societal circumstances. The trainees were also introduced to the Human Dignity Curriculum, as well as in WYA’s global work in education, culture and advocacy.
Along with the CTP, WYA SEE Director also held a training for the Chapter’s two new CTP trainers. The two new trainers also participated in the CTP throughout the training, which helped them gain elementary experience in leading group discussions. The training concluded with plans for future activities, which included new CTP cycles at WYA Kosovo, and plans for the Chapter’s collaboration with WYA Albania.
“During the training I could see another point of view of the whole process, that of a trainer. I am convinced that I will benefit from this in the future, especially in the CTP, but also other projects that will be held in WYA Kosovo. Cannot wait to get started!” (Luljeta, WYA Kosovo)
